The International Labour Organisation together with the International Trade Union Confederation (ITUC), the International Organisation of Employers (IOE), the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), Human Rights Watch, Solidarity Centre, International Federation of Journalism, Equal Times and Migrant Forum in Asia have launched its third Global Media Competition on Labour Migration (GMCLM) to recognize exemplary media coverage on the topic.
We invite professional journalists and reporters to submit up to two pieces of their journalistic work to address either one of the following thematic areas: (i) labour migration aspects (ii) fair recruitment of migrant workers. Entries can be in one of the two following categories: (i) written articles (online or print) and (ii) media production (photo journalism, video and audio). Entries must have been created and published between January 1, 2016 and October 27th, 2017 to qualify.
Four winners will be announced ahead of 18th December 2017 marking International Migrants Day. Two winners will receive a cash prize of US$1,000 on labour migration aspects, in general, and two winners will receive a special prize of US$1,000 for work on the recruitment of migrant workers. Winning entries will be promoted on the websites of all partner organisations involved in the competition and used in future trainings and other major events.
